Each year, the Florida Christian Youth Convention provides several workshop opportunities for students and sponsors. This allows students to choose areas of interest to learn more about. Over the years, this has been one of the strengths of FCYC and we think it really provides some depth that can be done in general sessions alone.

CompetitionsEvery year we have the opportunity to offer various competitions to our students. They provide the opportunity for our students to stretch themselves, delve into the theme in a personal way, and the chance to get some great scholarships.This year we will be offering two categories of competition.Preaching

Have you ever sat through a Sermon and thought, “I could do that.” Well if you are a guy in the 6-12th grade and would like a chance at some great scholarships, then this is for you.

Rules

    - Be brief and concise; aim for 10-12 minutes for your message.
    - Strive to incorporate the 2006 theme “Possessed” in your messages.
    - You must submit a copy of your sermon outline and a video tape or DVD of yourself preaching it by November 10th.
    - You must be registered with the Convention.
    - Finalists will preach before a panel of judges at the convention on Saturday, December 2nd.

        VocalAre you gifted vocally? Do you like to sing? Do you like to win things? Here is your chance to get out there and use your talents.

          - The music selection must be religious in nature and suitable for church programs.
          - A maximum of five (5) minutes will be allowed for the presentation.
          - The selection MUST be memorized by the soloist.
          - You must submit an entry form and a recording of your performance by November 10th.
